My husband was diagnosed with PC in March this year – from recognizable symptoms to diagnosis was fortunately just one week. He endured itching associated with jaundice while the liver became a friend again through stints, and then underwent Whipple surgery to remove a Stage II tumor without visible spread to the lymph nodes.

After four weeks of recovery, there was aggressive chemotherapy and radiation for six weeks, however, the cancer recently reappeared in the liver. This month, he is working through another series of chemotherapy treatments, and then will be scanned for updated results.

In the meantime, we are grateful for the time at hand, and that he is stable in the basics, such as eating, sleeping and the ability to move around. Before this happened, I was blissfully unaware that disease could present itself so quickly, and change life in such a dramatic way.

Hi, Kradma.
Welcome to Blog for a Cure family. I am fairly new to this site, but everyone here is so supportive. I am glad you found this place.
I am sorry about your husband’s cancer coming back. I hope chemo this time will do it and kill the cancer completely. I agree that cancer can change life so quickly. But, it is great that your husband has great support from you.

Hugs,
Yuyu

Thank you Yuyu,

Appreciate the post, and if I can ask, what is your story?

Welcome home. On one hand I am sorry you had to come. On the other hand there is no better place to be.

Read the blogs, as many as you can. You will get an appreciation for just how alike we all are and how accepted your concerns and fears will be.

Get your hubby involved, he can use the support as well.

Again welcome, I will make coffee and someone (who will remain nameless) will make cupcakes. The only rule Jill has given us is that we have to do the dishes before we go home…

prayers for you and yours
Mac

Kradma,
I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in August and have been going through chemo therapy. I have finished 2 chemo treatments so far and have 4 more to go. I will have a sugery (mastectomy) after chemo.
Every one of us has stories here on this blog even though we may have different types of cancer. You will be surprised how we all can relate and sympathize with each other in feelings and struggles we go through with dealing with cancer. I hope you will continue to share with us and find this place supportive.
Hugs,
Yuyu

Hi Kradma,

Welcome to this wonderful blog. Here you will find others whose lives have been transformed by cancer and are cancer survivors even though some of us are going thru cancer treatments. I’m taking chemotherapy for colon cancer.

I found this blog in September and am so glad I did. Everyone is so supportive and we can tell about our feelings and fears and tears and no one judges us. We all have had the same feelings at one time or another during cancer.

Your husband is already a cancer survivor and it’s a miracle he survived pancreatic cancer. We pray mightily for his beating this cancer in the liver, too. Tell him we care and are praying for him.

Love, hugs and prayers to you and your husband.

As our family grows larger we are able to love and support those who may not have family that understand what they are going through.
So here we are “Taking care of each other”

Hello there and Bless you and yours.

Welcome Kradma,
I am sorry you had need of us, but we are here to support, love, and offer friendship to you and your husband. We all have our stories. Some of us are family members, like yourself, and many of us are cancer survivors like myself. If you wish to learn someone’s story, just click on their name at the bottom of their comment. you will have access to all of their posts, starting with their profile. I love Mac’s comment, but we all always do. Coffee and “cupcakes” (from one of our family) sound nice. We can always pretend and enjoy a tea party (my preference). Keep us in the loop. Have your husband pour out his feelings here too. It will help him so much. Much love and prayers.

Just wanted to jump in and say Hi!

Hug Sherri
